Hello folks! We're planning a new 7" release with the swiss band SHINY BROWN together with KINK RECORDS. Also, we will hopefully have (at least next year) new releases by REQUEST, DIAVOLO ROSSO, DARK THARR and SCHEISSEDIEBULLEN, maybe also other stuff. Also, there are plans to make a record with this awesome new band from Karlsruhe called CRUEL FRIENDS..... ex-this and that..... who cares anyway. You can check this out here:

DARK THARR – s/t -CD

Auf diesem Album knurrt einem tiefergestimmter, bösartiger, bollerig roher und langsamer Doom/Sludge mit hassig-heiserem Gesang entgegen, der effektiv und positiv emotionslos daherkommt, da ist wirklich kein Licht zu sehen. Klingt für mich etwas nach düstereren EHG und es ist von der Darbietung etwas reduziert und simpel. Was hingegen 90er Sludge, nach dem es klingt, auch oft war, somit geht das in Ordnung und man erzeugt eine recht unheilvolle Atmosphäre. Dennoch fühlt es sich insgesamt für mich doch eher wie ein Demo an, manchmal haut man doch irgendwie daneben, was aber auch auf ne Art seinen Charme hat. Es sind auch nur 5 Songs auf der CD, also quasi nach meiner Zählung Demo Nummer 2, weil der CD auch ein Demo vorausgegangen war (wie ich gelesen habe), das ich aber nicht kenne. Auf die gesamte Spiellänge ist es etwas zu wenig für mich. Ich warte da lieber auf die nächste LP, mir wurde zugeflüstert, dass da irgendwann noch was hinterher kommt. Also: alles in allem ganz gutes Gekeife und erdiges, düsteres Gerocke, aber mit Dark Tharr geht bestimmt noch mehr als das, was ich hier höre. Kommt in einem netten Digipack, das für relativ kleines Geld angeboten wird. Und dafür kann man das mal Austesten. (matze)

REQUEST – megalith – LP

Wenn sich mehr als drei Labels ein Release teilen, ist das selten ein gutes Zeichen. Meist handelt es sich um eine Platte, die nicht gut genug ist, damit, ein, zwei oder meinetwegen auch drei Labels den Arsch in der Hose haben, das finanzielle Risiko zu tragen. Request widerlegen diese Erfahrungsregel zum Glück. Abgesehen von dem irritierenden Cover, das Hillbilly-Punk erwarten lässt, spielen die Gießener Request schnellen Hardcore mit einer leicht crustigen Note, der gefällt. (christian)

DARK THARR - s/t - CD | Meta Matter | 34:14

WEETEATER, GRIEF, SAINT VITUS, vielleicht sogar frühe EYEHATEGOD sind die ersten Namen, die mir sofort in den Sinn kommen, als das selbstbetitelte Debütalbum der Freiburger DARK THARR im CD-Schacht zu rotieren beginnt. Auch hier stehen die Riffs ganz im Zeichen der Langsamkeit, versehen mit einem muffig-schludrigen Gitarrensound und einem leicht schlabbernden Bass. Darüber thront eine Stimme, die zwar nicht ganz so abgefuckt klingt wie die eines Mike Williams (EHG), der seinerzeit sogar Glas gefressen haben soll, um noch krasser zu klingen, aber dennoch schön angefressen und knarzig daherkommt. Dass diese Stimme einer Frau gehört, fällt einem auf Anhieb noch nicht einmal auf. Wenn man es ganz genau nimmt, ist Bassist Stefan bei DARK THARR der einzige männliche Vertreter der Gattung Mensch, was jetzt zwar nichts Besonderes ist, doch zumindest mir jedoch in dieser Form noch nicht unterkam. Auf jeden Fall ein schönes Debüt, man sollte DARK THARR im Auge behalten.

SCHEISSEDIEBULLEN – Aufschwung - CD | 45:28

Einen passenderen Namen für eine Punkband kann es eigentlich nicht geben. Ich kann mir sogar gut vorstellen, dass bei der Namensfindung das eine oder andere alkoholische Getränk eine Rolle spielte. Und SCHEISSEDIEBULLEN halten das, was ihr Name verspricht. In zwanzig Titeln geht es von Kritik an Gesellschaft, Staat und Szene bis hin zu dem Aufruf, für seine Ideale zu kämpfen. Zwanzig Songs, das hört sich nach viel an, ist es aber bei einer Spieldauer von 45 Minuten nicht wirklich. Viele kurze Titel sind am Start, aber das wiederum ist auch Punk. Gut gefülllt mir der Abwechslungsreichtum, von Metal-Einschlag („Es geht nicht ohne“) über Punkrock („Scheissediebullen“) bis Punk’n’Roll-Einfluss („Landratte“) ist so ziemlich alles vertreten. Einziger Makel: bei der Qualität der Songs ist das Gefällle ziemlich groß. Das mag vielleicht daran liegen, dass die Titel von unterschiedlichen Sängern vorgetragen werden. Oder sind vielleicht doch zu viele Songs auf dem Album? Schwer zu sagen, dennoch ist „Aufschwung“ eines der besseren Deutschpunk-Alben.

"When something appears with such dark imagery as Dark tharr's CD has, I get worried.

Is it nihilist black metal pedaled by a lone bedroom misanthrope again? Is it some teenage death metal? My hopes are often close to extinguished if I see a hint of goats, skulls or mysterious solitary figures these days. However, Dark tharr's lone goat skull man brings us some (skull)cracking doom and for this I am glad.

Coming straight out of Freiburg Germany, this five-track effort has that fist clenching and desperate groove you long for when people detune as much as this. Dark tharr are a 3/4 female proposition too, with just their bassist being able to grow a beard, I hope. This of course is nothing new, the likes of Monarch! and Thorr's Hammer have made it easy for women to bring the misery just as fat as men do. The vocals for example are the low, gravelly roar of a woman wronged it seems, satisfyingly croaky and throaty like.

The riffs wallow in that Eyehategod pool a fair bit, blues-influenced but so blue it looks black. The guitar has that tone that rings out over the nullifying bass work so many bands forget about. If I hear one amorphous blob of feedback and lack of clarity once more then I might, you know, get really angry with someone and have an extra biscuit or something. I don't do the angry thing very well do I? Well thankfully Dark thaar are here to reflect my mood, sombre and elemental.

You'll have heard this kind of thing before, but it's rare to get something so steadfastly proud of its bone-crunching simplicity that I've sat up and taken notice and you totally should too. On the off chance you're reading this in Germany, they appear to be rather deafening live and are playing with some amazing bands at the moment, Black Shape of Nexus for example. That tells you a lot about them to be honest, they're keeping excellent company. Listen you bunch of worms."
