There was a pre-release version of the CRUEL FRIENDS record for their tour in april. But apart from the fact that the tour singles were pressed on heavier vinyl, there is no difference to the current pressing. So now the normal mailorder version is also ready... intense grinding hardcore, with people from Karlsruhe and Straßbourg . For fans of HHIG, SLUMP, GUNMOB,...

And the SHINY BROWN - strawberries - 7 " comes – of course! - on brown vinyl, packed in a nice and heavy foldout cover. Hello folks! We're planning a new 7" release with the swiss band SHINY BROWN together with KINK RECORDS. Also, we will hopefully have (at least next year) new releases by REQUEST, DIAVOLO ROSSO, DARK THARR and SCHEISSEDIEBULLEN, maybe also other stuff. Also, there are plans to make a record with this awesome new band from Karlsruhe called CRUEL FRIENDS..... ex-this and that..... who cares anyway. You can check this out here:

DARK THARR – s/t -CD

Auf diesem Album knurrt einem tiefergestimmter, bösartiger, bollerig roher und langsamer Doom/Sludge mit hassig-heiserem Gesang entgegen, der effektiv und positiv emotionslos daherkommt, da ist wirklich kein Licht zu sehen. Klingt für mich etwas nach düstereren EHG und es ist von der Darbietung etwas reduziert und simpel. Was hingegen 90er Sludge, nach dem es klingt, auch oft war, somit geht das in Ordnung und man erzeugt eine recht unheilvolle Atmosphäre. Dennoch fühlt es sich insgesamt für mich doch eher wie ein Demo an, manchmal haut man doch irgendwie daneben, was aber auch auf ne Art seinen Charme hat. Es sind auch nur 5 Songs auf der CD, also quasi nach meiner Zählung Demo Nummer 2, weil der CD auch ein Demo vorausgegangen war (wie ich gelesen habe), das ich aber nicht kenne. Auf die gesamte Spiellänge ist es etwas zu wenig für mich. Ich warte da lieber auf die nächste LP, mir wurde zugeflüstert, dass da irgendwann noch was hinterher kommt. Also: alles in allem ganz gutes Gekeife und erdiges, düsteres Gerocke, aber mit Dark Tharr geht bestimmt noch mehr als das, was ich hier höre. Kommt in einem netten Digipack, das für relativ kleines Geld angeboten wird. Und dafür kann man das mal Austesten. (matze)

REQUEST – megalith – LP

Wenn sich mehr als drei Labels ein Release teilen, ist das selten ein gutes Zeichen. Meist handelt es sich um eine Platte, die nicht gut genug ist, damit, ein, zwei oder meinetwegen auch drei Labels den Arsch in der Hose haben, das finanzielle Risiko zu tragen. Request widerlegen diese Erfahrungsregel zum Glück. Abgesehen von dem irritierenden Cover, das Hillbilly-Punk erwarten lässt, spielen die Gießener Request schnellen Hardcore mit einer leicht crustigen Note, der gefällt. (christian)
